FAQ's
Below we have answered some common questions, however if the answer you're looking for isn't here please call us on +44 (0)1604 491107 or email via our contact form.
What is curve trace testing?
Curve trace applies a controlled voltage across each pin of a component and measures the resulting current, producing a characteristic signature. Comparing that signature against a known-good reference reveals whether the device is genuine.
Is curve trace testing destructive?
No. Curve trace is non-destructive. Components are returned intact and remain usable in production afterwards.
What does curve trace detect?
Cloned or substituted die, wrong devices in correct packages, electrically dead parts, and components harvested from used assemblies and re-marked as new stock.
Do you need a known-good reference part?
A verified reference significantly improves confidence in the result. Where one is not available, we compare across the batch and against datasheet expectations, and will advise on the limitations.
Do you supply documentation with the results?
Yes. Captured traces and findings are supplied as a written report suitable for your incoming inspection and audit records.
